Parramatta is located 24km West of Sydney. It has a population of around 750,000. It includes everything within Parramatta, Holroyd and Auburn councils. Parramatta is Australia's second oldest city, and served as the capital for a short time after 1799.
Trains run from Sydney Central, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Blacktown and Penrith regulary, with morning an afternoon peak services from Bankstown. Parramatta is about half an hour by train, or car, simply follw Parramatta Road and the M4 from Sydney, the Hume and Cumberland Highways from Liverpool and Campbelltown, the M4/Great Western Highway from Blacktown and Penrith, and Woodville Road from Bankstown. Regular bus services from all areas.

What's in Parramatta?
Westfield Shoppingtown is the largest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere. There are many restaurants here, both in Westfield, or the Phillip Street restaurant strip. Parramatta Stadium is the home ground for the Parramatta Eels (Rugby), the Sydney Blues (Baseball) and a Parramatta soccer team which starts competition next season. There are many clubs, pubs and gaming rooms, as well as an AMF bowling centre.
